Fifty Pounds Gone!

Yes, I have lost over fifty pounds!  I didn't blog about it immediately but I've kept it off and added another 1.6 pounds to the total.  Tomorrow will be be 5 months since I started eating healthy and I've gone from 242.8 to 191.2.  Surprised  It surprises me every time that I think about it!  I'm proud to say that I lost this weight in a very healthy manner!  No diet pills! No doing without carbs, protein, bread, or anything else!  It's all about eating healthy, staying motivated through family and friends (www.SparkPeople.com), and portion control!  By planning out your meals you can eat anything you want within reason.  I'm learning to love eating healthy.  I crave the "junk" food less and less now!  Amazing!   LOL
 
Now I'm working on losing the next 50!  I know it won't be as fast but I'm enjoying every pound I lose so that's okay too!  I'll get to 125 as soon as my body lets me!  LOL  I intend to eat this same way for the rest of my life (maybe a few more calories) in order to stay healthy!  Life is sweet!IMG_0547_edited

DOING A 180!

So for the first time in about 3.5 years I am able to wear my wedding ring again - and wearing clothes that had been saved in the back of the closet.  I am now in the 180's - whooooooo hooooooo!!!!!! I like this milemarker as it also signifies that I have changed my life 180 degrees in the past 3.5 months!  I Love the changes and am feeling GREAT!

Weight Loss to Date -   46.6  Pounds
 
Only 3.4 pounds to go and I will have lost 50 pounds.  What a difference 4 short months have made in my life!  Four months ago I had to get in a wheel chair in order to shop and Sam's and Super Walmarts.  My hips, back and knees wouldn't stand-up to shopping in those big stores.  I hadn't been able to shop in malls since before my surgeries in 2002.  But NOW things are so different!  No more wheel chairs for me.  I went shopping today and Sam's and Super Walmart and my hip was barely sore when I finished! 
 
The idea of how I'll feel when I lose the next 50 pounds - well -  I can't even imagine!  I'm hoping that other members of my family will want to get healthy too!  That would make me so happy if that would happen!
 
I'll do another blog when I get down to 192.8 and have lost 50 pounds.  Hopefully, that will be very soon!

A Rough Week!

This has been a rough week for me.  My scales have not moved down in 12 days.  This is the first time that has happend to me.  I'm still eating the same so I know it's not the calories.  But, the weather hasn't been as good and I haven't been able to work out in the yard.  Also, I think T.O.M. is causing bloating.  This morning I decided I had to do something to jump start my metabolism!  So, first thing this morning I got on my mini-stepper for 30 minutes and built up a big sweat.  During the day I danced for 10 minutes, did 6 sets of 15 each dumbbell strength exercises and  walked on my mini-stepper 15 more minutes.  I'm anxious to weigh tomorrow and see if I outwitted the scale!  LOLJaciThis is a picture of my granddaughter, Jaci.  She helped me make some brownies for my husband, her PaPaw!

Boy does it feel great to be under 200 - now lets get outa the OBESE category - I HATE THAT WORD!
